Online application for admission to Class XI in the upcoming academic year will start from May 26. This date was fixed in a meeting regarding admission to Class XI on Monday, the day after the SSC and equivalent exam results were published. The possible deadline for applications is June 11.
Prof. Tapan Kumar Sarkar, the chairman of the Dhaka Education Board, responded, “If you’re wondering, the admissions and application process will follow the previous guidelines this time too.” That is, you can apply to a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 10 colleges or similar institutions in order of preference by paying an online application cost of Tk 150.
Except for a few institutions including Notre Dame College of Dhaka, there is no selection test for class XI admission. Students are admitted on the basis of SSC and equivalent results. Out of the number of colleges to which a student applies, his/her placement in an educational institution is determined based on the student’s merit, quota (where applicable) and preference.
The results of SSC and equivalent exams were released yesterday on Sunday. There were 20 lakh 13 thousand 597 candidates in 11 education boards. Among them 16 lakh 72 thousand 153 passed. There are about 25 lakh seats available for admission in Class XI across the country.
